Finding Love at Caesars

With LOVE as our February theme, we thought you would like to hear a few stories of our employees who met and fell in love at Caesars. It turns out cupid has been a busy guy! There were so many Caesars’ couples we couldn’t fit them all in.

Caesars’ support of families, friendships and the community is the common thread in all their stories. Caesars wishes the Williams, Sapps, Rebers, and all the other Caesars lovebirds out there, a special Valentine’s Day this year.

Allison & Jason Williams – Horseshoe Bossier City, LA

Allison and Jason met almost three years ago when Jason walked into the Riverdome, the in-house music venue at Horseshoe, and a conversation sparked. Allison is Promotions & Events Manager and Jason is Casino Operations Assistant Manager at Horseshoe Bossier City in Louisiana.

A friend of Allison’s thought she was crazy to go for a walk in the park in the middle of the night with some guy she barely knew. But Allison decided to go with her gut – and the rest is history. In May 2015, Jason proposed to her during a walk on the beach in Orange Beach, Alabama. They returned to the beach once again for their wedding in Maui, Hawaii this January, with a few close friends surrounding them.

The Williams say their relationship isn’t all that unusual; they know several other couples who met at Horseshoe and are now married. “When you work here, you become friends with the people. We have a strong community,” says Allison. Along with that comes a sense of family at Horseshoe. “If we have something we need to take care of family-wise, then that takes priority.”

They spent this Valentine’s Day where they met – at work. Allison was busy running a Sweetheart Dinner for couples at Horseshoe, helping to spread a little love among the guests.

Misti & Frank Sapp – Harrah’s Laughlin, NV

Misti and Frank met while working at Harrah’s back in 1998. Frank started as a craps dealer, eventually working his way up to Director of Casino Marketing and overseeing the largest private charter operation in the company at Harrah’s in Laughlin, Nevada. Misti is a dealer and, according to Frank, “She is quite good at it, from an expert set of eyes.”

Like the Williams, the Sapps were both working this Valentine’s Day. But they didn’t seem to mind. Frank explains, “When you are in our industry, holidays like Valentine’s Day are not our celebration time. That is our time to shine at work and be there for our customers.”

They will both soon be celebrating 25 years of employment at Harrah’s and say they know many other long-time employees at the Laughlin property. They believe it may be because Harrah’s offer a great employee HELP fund and the 24 hour gaming business offers flexibility with work life balance, especially for people raising a family. “It’s closer knit in a smaller property as well – small enough that you can know everybody,” shares Frank.

Robin & Jim Reber – Harrah’s Council Bluffs, IA

Robin and Jim met working the graveyard shift on the Harrah’s boat in March 2009. Robin’s best friend and co-worker, who was on security that night, told her that the new security lead on shift looked like Wolverine. So, naturally, she had to go check him out for herself. “He did look like Wolverine with his sideburns, but I wanted to know his real name. After a few days, I went up to him and said, ‘Hey Wolverine, what’s your name?’ He chuckled and that broke the ice for us.”

They became close friends over the next year, and eventually Robin got up the courage to ask Jim out to a concert. They consider this their first “official” date and have been together ever since. Jim proposed in June 2013, and they married in May 2014. “This was by far one of the best days of my life,” says Robin.

Robin is the Hotel Services Manager and Jim is Casino Operations Manager at Harrah’s Council Bluffs in Iowa. They feel that Caesars does a good job of including families, especially in its community events. Robin shares, “Jim and I participate in several cause-related events – like fund raising walks – throughout the year and we have been able to bring our families with us for extra support.”

For Valentine’s Day, they had a quiet evening dinner together. While they have been together six years, they say it feels like ten and are excited to be expecting their first child in July.
